Volunteering at AMF will provide you with the opoprtunity to gain first-hand experience in public relations and organiziaional skills and the chance to meet some of the high profile media personalirties participating and attending the event. • It is very important to be familiar the AMF agenda, know the topics and timings of all sessions and workshops, as well as know where all functions take place and when.
• It is very important to familiarize yourself with photos and bios of our VIP guests.
• All volunteers must wear the traditional Emirati dress
  • Men :
    • Should wear the traditional Emirati Kandora (white) with a
    • White Ghatra and Agal.
  • Women :
    • Should wear the traditional Emirati Abaya and Shaila (simple with no exaggerated accessories) which must be respectful and professional (preferably black).
    • Blue Jeans are not allowed to be worn under an open Abaya.
    • In addition, the makeup should be very simple.
• All volunteers must represent the Emirati traditions and culture in a respectful manner.
• We encourage our volunteers to smile to all attendees at AMF.
• The volunteers must cooperate with their teammates to ensure a smooth workflow. Remember that you are working in one team representing a whole city, and make sure to overcome any issues and obstacles, in the most professional manner, by solving them discreetly.
• If you notice that the attendees require some help be proactive and help them, don’t wait to be asked.
• Take permission from your supervisor before you leave the area to take a break, and don’t leave your designated location unless your supervisor asks you to.
• Be punctual and avoid being late, if a volunteer is late or didn’t show up, he/she must contact his/her supervisor and inform them with a valid excuse. Volunteers that do not inform their supervisor of their delay/no show will be eliminated.
• Irresponsible volunteers will be denied any type of reward or recognition.
• Volunteers must wear the ID card, DPC pin, and arm band at all times.
• Avoid chatting in groups during working hours, and do not use mobile phones or your black berry device during the working hours, as it is unprofessional. Make sure to keep the mobile phone silent during working hours.
• Remember that you are working for a temporary period and that your mission is to make sure the event is a success.

Note: We believe that volunteering should be a fun and a beneficial experience, if you feel that you were not benefitting from your experience or that you are being treated less than you deserve please discuss your concern with your supervisor or team leader.

• All volunteers must familiarize themselves with all of the emergency exits in advance;
• You must also know the locations of the first aid kits, fire extinguishers, and hose reels.
• All volunteers must know the locations for the emergency gathering.
• In case of fire, please leave the building immediately through the nearest emergency exit.
• If you have suspected any suspicious acts please inform your supervisor.

• Hospitality Team: The Hospitality Team are the first people to meet the guests and they are responsible for greeting and assisting guests at all times and making sure that all guests arrive as per the given schedule. The team must familiarize themselves with the biography of VVIP’s, VIP’s and the guests to ensure a hospitable greeting upone arrival.
• Information Desk Team:The Information Desk Team is the point of contact and they are required to have knowledge for all potential inquiries that may be asked by the guests. They are to assist and provide the guests with accurate information in coordination with the team of the Dubai Press Club when required. They are also required to hand out AMF packages to the guests upon their arrival.
• Registration Team: The Registration Team is required to issue badges for all guests, before entering the sessions venue; volunteers must be friendly, courteous and helpful. This position requires applicants to have great communication skills in spoken Arabic and English, and they must be fast at typing information.
• Media Center Team:The Media Centre Team will need to assist journalists with all functions, such as technical support and facilitate information related to the event.
• Venue Team : The Venue Team should know the venue well, as they will be responsible for assisting the guests with information regarding the venue and the locations. They are also responsible for scanning badges, recording entries, handling microphones and distributing translation kits for the sessions and workshops.
• Survey Team: The Survey Team is to ensure that the surveys are distributed to the attendees and collected once the surveys have been filled in. They are also responsible for collecting feedback and suggestion from guests at the forum.
• Production Team: The Production Team is responsible for filming and uploading all the activities at AMF. The team will need to make sure that the videos are uploaded in a timely manner.
• Speaker’s Team: The Speaker’s Team is responsible for assiting speakers at all times from the time they arrive to the time they depart. The team will need to ensure that the speaker’s agenda is carried out smoothly and acurately as per the given arrangements. They are to be courtous and helpful to the speaker’s at all times. It is also important that the team familiarize themselves with the biography of the speakers.
• Transportation Team: يThe Transportation Team is responsible for knowing the schedule of all arriving and departing guests. They must secure all transportation for the invitees that will be attending AMF. The team must also secure transportation for all guests from the hotel, to AMF, and back to the hotel.
• Invitees Team: The Invitees Team is responsible for assiting event invitees at all times from the time they arrive to the time they depart. They are to be courtous and helpful to the guests at all times.

Will there be transportaion services for the volunteers?

No, all volunteers must have their own transportaiotn and must be present at the venu on time.

Will volunteers be provided with a hotel room?

No, unless their job requires them to stay at the hotel.

Can volunteers use the hotel services?

No, hotel services are not provided to the volunteers. If the volunteer requests for hotel services he/she is reposnsible for making the payment, as it is not the reponsibility of AMF.

Can volunteers use the valet parking?

The hotel provides valet parking service to the attenees of the forum.

What does the volunteer have to do when he/she first reaches event location?

• First he/she must record his/her attendance.
• Second he/she must wear the ID card, DPC pin, and arm band, and
• Third he/she must meet with his/her supervisor.

Is there a place for volunteer to rest and store their belongings?

Yes, there is a room available for the volunteers where they may have a break and store their belongings.

Can volunteers bring their friends and family to the event?

Yes, they may brign anybody as visitors, but they must not be associating with them during working hours.

Will there be meals served to the volunteers?

Yes, the volunteers will be informed of the location where they may receive meals. If the volunteers choose to eat elswhere he/she will be reposnsible for the payment, as it is not the reponsibility of AMF.

How to answer guests when asked about specific places (prayer room, rest room, workshops, etc)?

If volunteers are not familiar with the locations of the prayer room, restrooms, workshops, sessions etc., look back at the location map or ask the information desk for help.

Young UAE nationals are invited to volunteer at the Arab Media Forum, subject to below:

• Applicants must be older than 15 years of age
• Must have good communication skills in English and Arabic
